We are pleased to now offer a thoughtfully curated selection of great poetry titles at deep discounts! So-called “bargain books” are titles that have been returned by previous booksellers to the publisher. While not brand new releases, we have procured a tasty collection of recent titles from the past five years by iconic, diverse, and award-winning poets: think Carolyn Forché, Yusef Komunyakaa, John Ashberry, Amy Gerstler, Maggie Smith, Tracy K. Smith, Charles Simic, James Tate. Add a sprinkling of exciting newcomers and a smattering of innovative craft books, and voilà!

Some books are discreetly marked with a small line or dot on the bottom edge of the pages. This is referred to as a remainder mark and it simply ensures that the book will not be returned to the publisher a second time. These little marks translate into big savings for you (30% off list price) and allow me to compete with the big online booksellers. And some books don’t have marks at all (20% off list price). Membership also entitles you to take an additional 10% off your purchase. Gently used books sell for 50% off list price.

We are in the process of adding the titles to our website so that locals can purchase them online and pick them up at their convenience. We regret that we don’t have the capacity to ship. Any books that do not sell within a year will be added to our library, and/or donated to charity, so our inventory stays fresh.

If you’re local, we encourage you to become a member to borrow books from our continually growing, fabulous library of 3400+ poetry titles. The barn is currently open to members 7 days a week, 12-5 PM, by appointment, and to everyone from 12-5 PM, Saturday-Sunday.
