Third Fridays at Woodstock Library
The Poetry Barn is pleased to present a new, regularly occurring monthly reading at the Woodstock Library. Each third Friday of the month, we feature several writers/readers and host an open mic. Our last event enjoyed a terrific turnout, as Nancy Jainchill (nonfiction), Marcia Loughran (poetry), and Frannie Forsman (fiction), three writers who honed their craft together at Bennington College’s renowned MFA program, read selections from their work.
On Friday, September 16, four members from Brooklyn’s Verbal Supply Company will treat us to 45 minutes of literary bliss! Founded in 2012, Verbal Supply Company is “an audible writers' collective” that emphasizes the live reading experience, from novel excerpts to travelogue, poetry to prose, flash fiction, personal memoir, and the monologue.
An open mic follows each feature, so if you have a poem, essay, short story, or song you’d like to share, you’re warmly invited to choose a slot on the sign-up sheet that will be provided prior to the reading.
If you are interested in featuring, please email info@poetrybarn.co.
Many thanks to Janet Dymond, Library Director, and the entire Woodstock Library staff for opening their doors for us!
